National Water Saving Drive
The national drive to save energy in South Africa, attracted various proposals and presentations from various suppliers, with the committee finally deciding that solar water heating was the most cost efeffective and viable option.
Factors included in the decision making, included public acceptance, pollution, both installers and manufacturers, industry development, and course the biggest and quickest bang per buck.
Maxlite was selected as a supplier of their WaterLite range of stainless-steel water heaters.. Being freeze and hail resistant this range is suitable for all climatic conditions.
Locally manufactured Grade 444 steel is used for the manufacture of the tank which carr a 10 year manufacturers guarantee.

Other grades of stainless steel are prone to rusting over time. Heat transfer fluid is normal water being automatically topped via the small feeder tank above the water heater.
During this project Maxlite supplied systems to all parts of South Africa and including our immediate neighbouring countries, and to Mali to our north.
Systems seen in this presentation are around 15 years old and still perform as well as day they were installed.

Rural Projects
Over the last 20 years, Maxlite has been a supplier of home solar solutions to the South African government. At the heart of this solution, is our MaxReg power supply and backup battery box, containing the appropriate battery and battery charge controller.
To date we have supplied over 50,000 of these DC solar systems in rural areas across Southern Africa. The system is designed to suit local rural conditions.
Our products are designed to operate as simply as possible, yet are functional in every respect.

Servicing the Insurance Industry
The insurance industry is the biggest buyer of solar and standard electric water heaters. This is a fiercely competitive market.
Many insurance companies have seen the benefit of using our stainless steel solar water heaters, designed and manufactured by our sister company, 0861Waterlite (Pty) Ltd.
Our products are designed to fill-full the requirements of the insurance industry. Besides using stainless steel, positioning of the valves and other fittings play an important role in the manufacture of the tank.
